CALIFORNIA ARTIST EMERGENCY COVID-19 Funding

MEET THE ARTISTS

YeahYeah!PonyPrince is a collaboration between two artists and like minded souls, Jodi Mullen and Oscar Bevilacqua. We have individually been creating art on clothing since 1991 and coming together to create since 2007. We love what we do, truly. There have been ohhhh so many big waves and yet we’ve always managed to stay afloat. The current state of the world has heavily impacted us financially, by far the hardest seas yet. We understand that everyone is in their own boat and feeling insecure. Coming together is what a community is about. This, asking for help, isn’t a port we ever expected to have to dock at and it is with open hearts that we do so. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but in reaching out to you, our friends and community, we hope to be able to continue doing what we do. We look forward to seeing you all again, in person, and giving you a big hug from our hearts as well as a gift in return. Thank you for allowing us to pursue our dreams through years of support. We love you! Thank you.:) Stay Healthy and Safe.

“Life does not accommodate you; it shatters you. Every seed destroys its container, or else there would be no fruition.” FSM

Hi Community of friends.  I have been creating recycled metal gratitudes for over 21 years selling at art shows and stores for my revenue stream.  These other artists in this go-fund-me have been by my side for nearly 2 decades as we encourage each other's  inspiration, successes and hard work ethics.  I am lucky to have a resilient community around me as I ponder the reality of the future of our businesses and ability to inspire through our art in this difficult time.  All of our income stream has come to an abrupt halt with art shows cancelling one by one and stores scratching orders.  I'm in a pickle.... I've asked for reduced rent and received a no.  All of my money has been tied up in art and trade shows with the investment to return with Spring and Summer shows.  Basically our investments are lost and no income coming in with immediate threat of bankruptcy and eviction. Please keep the art alive in us.  I can't imagine not having another Tucson Fourth Avenue Street Fair orTempe Festival of the Arts without us.  Please cast your vote to keep us healthy and afloat.

We are Harmony Tie-Dyes, a second generation family business for over 40 years. As a seasoned artists we have rode the roller coaster of our economy many times, but through all of our challenges over many years, this has been the most tragic. This being our families only source of income we took a major unexpected financial blow when all large gatherings were banned due to the coronavirus. This shut down included all Festivals at our greatest time of need. Most of us artists bank on the Spring shows to replenish the loss of income through the winter. We understand that everyone is feeling the burden of loss at this time and we are not asking for a handout, but for a hand up. Our goal is to keep production going so that we can maintain creating art for our community of customers. Though the face to face interaction is our preference and we would rather be in the community sharing our art...the impossibility of that at his time has forced us to branch out to other venues of income. We hope that with a little extra support through the growth of our website, we can recoup some of our losses and continue to brighten the world. When the time comes and this hardship is behind all of us, we promise to give back to the Community of Art and the People who have supported us. We send a warm “Thanks” to everyone who has reached out already and plan on thanking you again in person when festivals proceed. We would not have even made it this far without you and we will do whatever It takes to continue riding this roller coaster.

My name is Monique Hilfer and my business is called Sunshine Claydream Ceramics. I have been supporting myself and my two children, earning my living as a ceramic artist, for over 30 years.

I create fun and functional handmade pottery as well as wall art pieces with uplifting and inspirational sayings which cut directly to the heart and spirit.

This unprecedented crisis has demolished my livelihood for months to come. As the question looms as to how I will pay my bills and keep food on the table, just a little bit of a helping hand up and over this obstacle would make a world of difference.

We artists help to make the world a better place and it would be a shame to have the ripple effects of this tragedy wipe out our industry.
Any help is beyond appreciated!

My name is Patrick Tutt and my business is The Gourmet Potter.
I’ve been selling my handmade pottery at art shows for 45 years.

The corona virus has caused the cancellation of all of our art shows for the unforeseen future. The last time I had a show cancel was on May 18, 1980 (Mount St. Helens erupts!). It’s a very rare occurrence to have a show cancel, but to have every show cancel is unheard of.

All of us in this select group of California artists are in dire need of financial assistance in order to continue on with our art as our livelihood. Any contribution would be a blessing!

Thank you, Patrick Tutt ... of... The Gourmet Potter

Hi, I am Brant Davis owner of the Smoke Stack co, I have been in business form fourteen years never have I had my shows canceled over these years. I do a show almost every weekend. In 2019 I did 48 shows, at this time this is my only source of income. Winter months are usually the slowest money earning times of the year. All artist at this time are in trouble, with no idea of when we may get to go back to work we could use some assistance. Keeping the lights on, keeping the phones operational, fuel in the car, and food on on the table are essential. If you have used my product in the past and like it, please help out me and the other artist get through this tough time. I am willing to offer free shipping on any orders of my product. My gift packs set of all four flavors sell for $35.00. Phone 209-747-9146.

O’Casey Creations has been our full-time, “all handmade”, husband and wife run art business since 2009, when both of us left our careers so that we could work from home and take care of our son with special needs. Our artwork is a combination of wheel thrown, high fired stoneware and hand-sculpted and patinated copper. Each piece is an original. We sell our art at art fairs and festivals in the Southwestern United States. We make less than 3% of our annual income from online sales. Due to the Corona Virus every foreseeable art show that we were signed up to do has been cancelled and our prepaid booth fees are nonrefundable. We are scared and in big trouble financially. Our income is gone. We knew when we got into this business that we would never be rich, but we love what we do. After spending hours envisioning, creating, and perfecting a piece of art it becomes a part of you. It is really satisfying when that piece finds a home and makes other people happy. It has made it worth the long hours that it takes to not only create our art, but also run a business. When you are an artist you do it for the love of it, not the money. We just need to hold on until this Corona Virus storm passes, but the short-term forecast looks very bleak.
